主人公在空無一人的州際公路上獨自駕車，一倆裝載易燃物品的大卡車出現了。兩車分別超了對方的車，隨著主人公的超車，卡車司機彷如發瘋一般追逐戲弄著戴維的車，甚至還要把他逼上絕路。在被逼無奈的情況下，主人公只得與這輛要置自己於死地的卡車展開決鬥。

There's never been another filmmaker quite like Dusan Makavejev. Even in the 1960s, when all of cinema's steadfast rules seemed to be breaking down and artists such as Godard, Cassavetes, and Marker were dissolving the boundaries between fiction and documentary, Yugoslavia's Makavejev stood alone. His films about political and sexual liberation were revolutionary, raucous, and ribald. Across these, his wild, collagelike first three films, Makavejev investigates - with a tonic mix of earnestness and whimsy - love, death, and work; the legacy of war and the absurdity of daily life in a Communist state; criminology and hypnosis; strudels and strongmen.

La traversée de Paris (1956)

二戰期間，納粹開進了法國，巴黎成了被佔領區，物資緊張，出現了黑市交易。　

　

一天晚上，宵禁前，一對夫婦來到了小酒館，之後又來了一位中年壯男；丈夫嫉妒妻子與中年壯男搭訕，於是打了妻子的耳光，妻子離去，所有的人都沉默。當中年壯男準備離開時，卻被丈夫攔住了，丈夫請他吃晚飯。　　

晚飯時，所有的人都在懷念有豬肉的日子——對話很有趣，卻也傷感。丈夫得知中年壯男是一名油漆匠的時候——法語的油漆匠與油畫家是同一個單詞，這也就是誤會出現的原因，就向他交了底，說自己是走私豬肉的，需要找一位同伴幫忙，主要工作是在宵禁期間，從巴黎的一端用行李箱轉移豬肉到另一端，為次日的黑市交易做準備。『油漆匠』很感興趣，兩人達成共識。　

　

兩人來到ｌＯＵＩＳ的店裡搬豬肉，中年壯男突然發飆，要求ＬＯＵＩＳ付「遮口費」，否則就叫警察，他採取的手段是系列的，且極其流氓（指意識形態）的。所有的人都被他打敗了，LOUIS趕快掏錢送瘟神，兩人繼而開始了精彩的穿越巴黎之行。

法國名導Luc Besson繼1999年飽受爭議的《聖女貞德》之後沉寂6年，終於重執導筒，完成了他的第十部影片《天使A》。在暫時封鏡的6年間，他一直以「監製」身份出現，扶植了大量新人新作，由其參與製作的電影多達50部，其中不少劇本都出自他的手筆。這部低調上陣的《天使A》在拍攝期間一直處於保密狀態，在影片公映前，Luc Besson甚至拒絕組織新聞媒體的試映會，為本來就萬眾矚目的影片又憑添了幾許神秘色彩。

本片是黑色電影的代表作，改變自傑拉爾德·克什（Gerald Kersh）的同名小說，有趣的是導演只是按照劇本拍攝直到拍攝完成沒有看過小說原文。但是，導演把准了影片的基調，使得電影始終瀰漫著小人物絕望和緊張的氣息，他著重描繪了人被強勢力量拋棄後注定的命運，夜色裡哈瑞穿過倫敦街道躲避追趕的鏡頭一下子就抓住了觀眾的情緒，導演展示了個體和強勢博弈的必然宿命，特別是哈瑞最後的一席話應驗了樂極生悲的俗語。

Set during the Algerian War, Le Petit Soldat follows Bruno Forestier, a disillusioned young deserter who becomes involved in the French nationalist movement. He is ordered to kill an Algerian sympathizer, and although does not hold deep political beliefs, commits the murder and undergoes torment when captured. At the same time, he meets and falls in love with a women (Anna Karina in her film debut) who he does not know is fighting for the other side. Godard's controversial follow-up Breathless, Le Petit Soldat was originally banned from release in France because it refers to the use of torment on both sides, during Algeria's struggle for independence.
